Winston Churchill has famously remarked that an optimist sees opportunity in every difficulties and challenges. I felt a sense of challenge as well as opportunity when I took over as the principal of this DHARICHANNA KURI COLLEGE, DUMRAON which despite being one of the oldest college of V.K.S.U, Ara has suffered a lot on account of its being situated in an educationally backward area of Dumraon, its geographical location in the area of huge coverage of socially and economically unprivileged cross-section of society. I made a promise to myself that I would leave no stone unturned in my efforts to take the college to new academic heights and bring about a positive change herever there is a need for it. An African proverb says that ‘Smooth waters do not make skillful sailors’. I felt that I had my opportunity to develop and hone my skills for the all-round development of this college.
I feel a sense of relief and satisfaction to know that the college is gearing up for Ist. Cycle Assessment & Accreditation by NAAC. It is not only desirable but also mandatory to replace the old order and system and replace it with the new. Today it is a great challenge to transform our human resources into wealth as academically sound, professionally killed and socially responsible, environmentally conscious and equip them to compete in a multi cultural environment. We have taken meticulous efforts in materializing our vision and mission.
I believe in the principle of participative management, where every member of the institute from menial staff to top management contributes their mite for the development of the institution. This ‘Self Study Report’ is the result of the
perseverant grit and passion of the teaching and non-teaching staff of the college, who worked day and night. I extend my heartfelt thanks and gratitude to all the teaching, non-teaching and administrative staff of this college ho contributed in the prep ration of this SSR. I specially congratulate Dr. Ajay Kumar, Coordinator NAAC Steering Committee and for their untiring, dedicated and sincere efforts.
